Since pioneering computer numerically controlled bowls manufacturing in 1982, Drakes Pride has become the world's most experienced manufacturer of precision made lawn bowls. The ongoing investment in cutting-edge precision manufacturing technology has kept the company at the forefront of our sport. All our bowls are designed and manufactured in our state-of-the-art factory in Liverpool and distributed to expert stockists in all bowling regions of the world. Drakes Pride develops models in collaboration with elite bowlers, ensuring the products continue to lead the way in our sport.

Many people may not realize that Drakes Pride's history dates back to 1820. Originally owned by Darlingtons in Liverpool, the brand was developed with a logo inspired by the legendary bowler, Sir Francis Drake.

In the 1970’s, the family business, E.A. Clare & Son, which specialized in cue sports and bowls renovations, acquired Darlingtons and the Drakes Pride brand. This acquisition combined our knowledge and skills in the biassing of bowls with the manufacturing facilities of Drakes Pride, establishing the company as a major player in the industry.

Through consistent manufacturing of high-quality, desirable products, the Drakes Pride family business has flourished and now employs the fifth generation of the family. Drakes Pride bowls are trusted by top players around the world and have contributed to numerous Commonwealth Games gold medal victories.

DP Bowls is the official U.S. retailer of Drakes Pride, operated by Ed Ochs and Jonathan Nicholas and based in Portland, Oregon. As the U.S. home for Drakes Pride, DP Bowls provides access to the full product range along with knowledgeable, personalized support to help players find the right equipment for their game.
